bu(i)tis
(2021- now)
“bu(i)tis” is a contemporary vocal and percussive dance performance project whose title combines two Lithuanian words: buitis (everyday life) and būtis (being/existence). The work explores the boundary between the noise of everyday life and existential silence, between repetitive domestic actions and the deeper inner experiences of human beings.
The experiences of different women, everyday rituals, and personal stories merge into a shared stage narrative in which domestic life is revealed not only as routine, but also as a space that shapes identity, memory, and one's relationship with oneself and others.
As the world becomes increasingly interconnected, questions of cultural roots, identity, and belonging become ever more significant. Rather than erasing differences, this project invites audiences to explore, embrace, and transform them into a creative dialogue. Through voice, rhythm, and movement, the performance creates a space for encounter, where personal stories become universal narratives of the human experience.
